What's included

We take the hassle away from you and organise your swim holiday using local knowledge, years of experience and safety backup. This leaves you to focus on relaxing and having fun in a fun group of people who share your passion for the ocean. Our trips include:

  • Group dinners at a local restaurant on the first (Sunday) and last day (Thursday).
  • 3 x full days on a charter boat including BBQ lunches.
  • 1 x half day Humpback Whale trip.
  • Your selected accommodation type at Ranginui’s Retreat at a discounted group rate.
  • All swims accompanied by a minimum of 2 guides.
  • Quality (and sexy) Ocean Swim Holidays merchandise (sun hat, swim cap, and jandals/thongs/flip flops)

Cost

Priced from $2,369 NZD for standard shared accommodation. The final cost depends on accommodation type chosen and whether your room is single or shared. You also have the option to make arrangements for your own accommodation. Non swimmers are welcome and are charged room costs only. Itinerary guideline

Sunday – 7pm Group Dinner at Blue Lagoon Restaurant and Bar.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (10am start) – 3 full days swimming supported by Wet & Wild.  We will be covering approximately 3-5 km per day across 2 different swims (before and after lunch) which will be complimented with snorkelling opportunities in some stunning locations.  

Wednesday - (9am start) one half day on the charter boat with the goal of swimming with Humpback Whales!  The afternoon can either be free time to explore Aitutaki or relax at our lagoon front accommodation (kayaks and paddle boards are available).

Thursday - 7pm Group Dinner at Avatea Cafe.

Aitutaki Lagoon, Cook Islands

Air Rarotonga fly to Aitutaki from Rarotonga a few times every day taking about 50 minutes. Check the Air Rarotonga flight schedule for details.

If you are flying from New Zealand on Air New Zealand you can book tickets to/from Aitutaki via Rarotonga.

Other activities in the area

So many choices - where do we start? Snorkeling, lagoon cruises, kayaking, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, or simply relax on a secluded white sand beach with a book or cold beverage in hand (or both). Go kitesurfing, bonefishing, watch the whales from the beach or indulge in a massage or spa. Choose your own activity and pace to experience this Island paradise!

Who are these swims for?

The minimum age of swimmers 14 years old (under 18 year old's must be accompanied by adult swimmer). You should have had some previous ocean swim experience and be able to swim 1km in under 40 minutes (flippers allowed).

We accommodate swimmers of different abilities and fitness levels. Flippers are welcome as is taking some time out during the swim and relaxing on the support boat for a spell or just participating in the morning or afternoon swims - the choice is yours!

Non-Swimmers

Non swimming partners/family/friends are welcome to join our trips. They may be able to accompany us on our support boats if there is space available.
